After the big walks Ben and I headed to Queenstown to meet Wendy who had flown in via Sydney (with a last minute rerouting to avoid Doha). We had a lovely Airbnb out in Kelvin Heights. A 5 minute walk to the ferry which took us into the hustle and bustle of Queenstown. A mecca for outdoor adventurers and tourists it sits on Lake Wakatipu.

From QT we took a long bus trip out to Milford Sound stopping off in some gorgeous spots along the way like the Mirror Lakes:
As we approached Milford Sound the weather changed dramatically. Heavy rain had created the most amazing array of waterfalls for our boat trip:
On the way back up we stopped off in Nelson and stayed in this interesting place built out of a shipping container and decorated with beer bottles:
Then on to the Bluebridge ferry as we tailed the Interislander ferry through the Marlborough Sounds:
Quick visit to Wellington...
...and then bus up to New Plymouth for a relaxing week.
