After the Samara House we drove south again and into the centre of Indianapolis. I needed a snack and rather foolishly ordered a large fries.
Needless to say I was defeated and also horrified by the huge handful of ketchup and mayonnaise sachets.
Our last architectural stop was in the lovely Lockerbie District of the city.
Here we visited the James Whitcomb Riley house. Home of the 'Hoosier' poet who wrote in the local dialect and also for children at the end of the C19.
A rather different style of decor to what we had seen that morning.
Then it was time for some refreshment.
A couple of ciders at this decorated bar.
And a sighting of a great ape (look closely)
And then some food under the watchful eye of HM at the Chatham Tap
And finally to the 17,000 seater Gainbridge Fieldhouse to see the Indiana Fever play the Las Vegas Aces |
Ah, a familiar bed companion, hiding out in the phone box 🤭
